A characteristic feature of men’s clothing from Thrace is the head covering.
It is a black or dark blue sash, approximately 2.5 meters long (previously 7-8 meters), made of wool or cotton, which was wrapped around the head, leaving one fringed end hanging down the back. This covering was called a shawl or serviette and was replaced by the kalpaki, a black velvet or astrakhan hat with two buttons. This particular batch is 2 meters each for easier tying, made on our looms with great care.
