Handmade woven head cover

A characteristic feature of men’s clothing from Thrace is the head covering.

It is a black or dark blue scarf, approximately 2 meters long, made of wool or cotton, which was wrapped around the head, leaving one fringed end hanging down the back.

This covering was called a “sali” or “serveta” and was replaced by the “kalpaki,” a black velvet or astrakhan hat with two buttons. This particular batch is 2 meters each for easier tying, made on our looms with great care.

Composition: cotton, wool

Thread colors: blue, white, red

Dimensions: 250×25 cm.

Weight 1 kg

Each YFADI piece is presented in our signature packaging — hand-wrapped in tissue paper and placed in a linen-textured box, sealed with a wax stamp. Complimentary gift wrapping available.
